My Story

My journey in technology began over a decade ago on the campus of UT-Martin where I majored in Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. Starting in network operations and infrastructure management, I've spent years ensuring that thousands of servers and systems run smoothly, often behind the scenes where uptime is everything.

From monitoring enterprise networks at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to handling global infrastructure at companies like Asurion and Dell Technologies, I've developed a deep appreciation for the intricate balance between technology and reliability. Every incident taught me something new about problem-solving under pressure.

Now, I'm embarking on an exciting adventure into Software Engineering and running a robotics/AI company in Gideon Systems. This is the natural evolution of someone who's always been curious about how to build better systems and to not just accept what limits are given. I'm actively learning Python, Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, DevOps, cloud platforms, robotics infrastructure and machine learning concepts, bringing my operational expertise into the development world.

Work Experience

Network Operations Center Technician – University of Wisconsin–Madison (2015–Present) • Remote(Minneapolis, MN)

Reduced repeat incidents by 43% via trend analysis, root-cause remediation, and system hardening aligned to NIST/ISO controls. Cut MTTR by 28% through improved alert routing, playbooks, and cross-team swarming for high-priority events. Proactively eliminated 12+ single points of failure across Gigabit Ethernet and mainframe integrations by partnering with NetOps/SecOps. Used HP OpenView, Tivoli Workload Scheduler, and Cherwell to manage incident queues and batch reliability, driving 96% on-time SLA adherence. Built forensic workflows for log/packet review that prevented 30% of alerts from escalating to customer-visible incidents.

ATOC Analyst – Asurion (2013–2015) • Nashville, TN

Monitored and escalated threats using enterprise tools, preventing 95% of potential outages before business impact. Performed log and SQL analysis to pinpoint root causes, improving resolution speed by 38% and reducing downtime by 27%. Delivered Tier-2 Windows server/desktop support and deployments with a 90%+ first-contact resolution rate. Partnered with Network/App/Sec teams to implement permanent fixes, cutting incident recurrence by 41%.

Technical Analyst – Dell Technologies (2011–2012) • Nashville, TN

Resolved OS, software, and connectivity issues with an 87% first-call resolution rate while maintaining strict SLAs. Administered Active Directory, supported Citrix, and coordinated secure custom app deployments. Used HP Service Manager to log/escalate/close tickets with 99% on-time compliance. Diagnosed and restored backup/VPN failures, accelerating recovery by 25% versus baseline response times.

Projects

Sun Exposure App
A privacy-first Android app that uses camera-based facial analysis and real-time UV data to help users manage sun exposure based on skin type, time of day, and location – without uploading anything to the cloud.

SentraOps platform
SentraOps is an intelligent, web-based platform designed to simulate cybersecurity incident workflows and deliver dynamic threat insights. Leveraging modern UI principles and AI-driven analysis, it enables rapid interpretation of security data through an interactive global interface. The system architecture balances speed, scalability, and visual clarity – built with efficiency-first technologies across both frontend and backend. SentraOps emphasizes operational relevance and user-centric design, making it a valuable tool for security education, workflow simulation, and real-time exploration of cyber scenarios. Initially developed as a concept prototype, SentraOps evolved through multiple agile sprints into a robust showcase of applied intelligence and system thinking. SentraOps was developed in under 4 weeks across four focused phases: infrastructure setup, core feature implementation, interface design, and polish/testing. The result is a cost-effective, scalable, and highly visual incident simulation engine – ideal for junior SOC analysts and cybersecurity educators.
